$80,000 COMET Grant

Pep Talk International Pty Ltd has won an $80,000 Commercialising Emerging Technology (COMET) grant from AusIndustry to commercialise its telephony innovation.

Pep-Talk auto-converts on-line phone numbers into images in real time, known as 'on-the-fly'. The image is then clicked on to make a phone call to that number.

One click dialing is a fast and convenient way of making phone calls.

Calls are made on regular telephones thereby ensuring excellent voice quality on every call.

E-commerce operators typically lose from 30 to 70 percent of sales through "website abandonment".

Visitors often give up when presented with an on-line form or shopping cart check-out when all they really wanted was a bit more product information before they proceeded with the purchase.

Pep-Talk grasps the spontaneity of the buying mood and instantly joins the buyer to the seller by telephone.

The Kelsey Group predicts the standard method click-dial market to grow to anywhere between US$1.4billion and US$4billion per annum, however Pep-Talk's patented 'on-the-fly' method dramatically expands this market.

Standard click-dial operators need to have phone links integrated with each phone number on each web page and commercial agreements in place with the content owners of these pages, whereas Pep-Talk's 'on-the-fly' method requires neither thereby addressing a much larger market.
